Job Description

We are hiring a Senior SAP Basis Consultant to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in helping to guide the organization through our cloud-ERP transformation. Steelcase Inc. is in the middle of a multi-year global business transformation journey and the adoption of a new cloud-based S/4HANA ERP system (on RISE with SAP) is at the heart of the project. You'll leverage your deep understanding of SAP Basis components and architecture to build, configure, and maintain our new cloud-based (RISE with SAP) ERP environments and ensure their stability, performance, and security throughout the duration of the business transformation program to go-live and beyond. This position demands a proactive problem solver as you'll be responsible for providing excellent cloud platform services to our SAP users, troubleshooting complex issues, and staying ahead of industry advancements. Who You Are:

  • Strong knowledge of foundational SAP Basis components, concepts, and practices.
  • Fundamental SAP architecture knowledge and system configuration capabilities.
  • Ability to install, configure, and maintain SAP systems on-prem and in the cloud (RISE with SAP)
  • Provide technical support to SAP users and ensures smooth operation and integration of SAP systems.
  • Experience with examining SAP system landscapes to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Knowledge of SAP user access control and security/compliance best practices.
  • Comfortable with SAP system performance tuning, tool operation, backup & recovery, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with server infrastructure necessary to host SAP and a database management system.
  • Knowledge of middleware and connectivity options used to support database and SAP systems.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements in SAP Basis technology and recommended best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required.
  • At least 5 years of SAP Basis experience required

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • At least five years of SAP Basis experience required (S/4 HANA strongly preferred)
  • SAP Basis experience in a large enterprise environment strongly preferred
  • Experience working in an Agile (SCRUM) environment preferred.
  • Strong analytical problem solving and communication skills are a must
  • Experience with S/4HANA in the Cloud and/or RISE with SAP is a significant plus

  • Build, configure, and maintain enterprise SAP systems, including current on-premises systems and new RISE with SAP deployments
  • Provide SAP cloud platform technical services and troubleshooting for application teams and business users.
  • Monitor and optimize SAP system performance, identify bottlenecks, and provide corrective actions to resolve.
  • Perform SAP system maintenance, backup and recovery planning, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
