Mental Health Technician Opportunity - Barboursville School Location

This is a  full-time or PRN opportunity as a  Mental Health Technician (MHT) at River Park Hospital's  Barboursville Campus located at 1535 Martha Rd, Barboursville, WV.

River Park Hospital operates a total of 187 mental health beds located on 2 campuses. Our main hospital campus is a 165-bed licensed mental health facility serving the needs of patients of all ages. Our second campus is Barboursville School housing a 22-bed PRTF licensed facility located on 8 acres in the center of beautiful Barboursville Park. Our mission is to assist patients in returning to their lives with the highest level of mental health. We offer a full spectrum of programs , which include acute inpatient services for older children,  adolescents ,  adults and  older adults , along with a variety of  psychiatric residential programs for both children and adolescents.

The Mental Health Technician is a vital part of River Park Hospital's treatment team. This is a full time or PRN position with an opportunity to work on the Weekend Day (7am-3:30pm), evening (Weekday 2-11:30pm & Weekend 3-11:30pm), or overnight shift (11pm - 7:30am). Our full time positions are 40 hours per week and require employees to work every other weekend. There is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.

As a Mental Health Technician, you will:

• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
• Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
• Assist with patient groups and activities
• Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
• Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
• Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• College student who has obtained or are pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services are preferred
• Six months experience in a mental health setting preferred, not required
• Valid certification as a nursing assistant preferred
