Job Description

Description of the role: As a Maintenance Technician at St. Ives Hometown Living of Johns Creek, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our senior living community. The ideal candidate for this position possesses a unique blend of technical skill and warmth. They are patient, understanding, and genuinely enjoy interacting with seniors, particularly those with cognitive challenges. A calm and reassuring demeanor is essential, as is the ability to adapt to changing situations and resident needs. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, capable of working independently while also being a collaborative team player. You will desire to create a safe and comfortable environment for our residents and have a genuine desire to make a positive impact. Patience and kindness are as vital as technical expertise in this specialized setting. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of the community
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues
  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in maintenance
  • General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical college experience a plus
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor for working with residents who have dementia
