Job Description

Help Desk Technician

An excellent Help desk technician must have good technical knowledge, must be able to communicate effectively to understand client issues, must possess excellent problem-solving skills and must be able to effectively describe the uncovered solution. They must also be client-oriented and patient to deal with difficult clients. This person must be highly focused, so that they do not stray from the efficient and effective resolution of the client’s issue(s).

The goal is to create noticeable value for TST clients that will help preserve the company’s reputation and business.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by clients
  • Walk the client through the problem-solving process
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
  • Follow-up and update client status and information
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by clients to the appropriate internal team member(s)
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
  • Installs and supports products, processes and hardware related to execution of supported clients’ IT systems and services
  • Promptly and properly document activities and communications associated with clients
  • Must work to complete system checks for TST clients
  • Must complete projects as assigned by Management.

Skills & Characteristics:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of PC / LAN hardware troubleshooting and basic knowledge of workstation software
  • Working knowledge of Windows networking and operating systems
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Client-oriented and cool-tempered

Job Location:

  • Flowood, Mississippi

Pay Range (Depending on Experience) $30,000.00 - $38,000.00

Additional Compensation

401k - 4% Dollar for Dollar Match - $1,520.00

BC/BS Health Insurance - $6,000.00

Cell Phone Allowance - $600.00

KPI/MBO Bonus Plan - $1,500.00

10 Holiday Pay - $1,520.00

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field
  • Strong technical support and software troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in computer management and desktop support
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer networking
  • Familiarity with VPN, TCP, SCCM, and GPO
  • Experience with Mac OS and Windows operating systems
  • Excellent communication skills and military background preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,400.00 - $50,000.00 per year
