We are committed to fostering a welcoming and collaborative work environment that encourages big-picture thinking, brings out the best in our employees, and helps us develop innovative solutions that contribute to building a better world together. If this sounds like a culture you would like to work in, you’re invited to apply for this role.
The PDS is a global team of subject matter experts, process architects, process, and equipment engineers within the ATLS Division of Fluor. Our team serves the life sciences, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, data center and battery manufacturing industries. It delivers as many as fifty projects per year.
The facilities integration team leads the development of feasibility studies, conceptual designs and early basic design packages following an established front-end design process Fluor refers to as EPIC.
This is a technical role that reports to the head of the facilities integration team, or a senior architect. The architectural visualization team plays a pivotal role in bringing architectural designs to life through visual representations. Here are the key responsibilities and tasks they handle:
• The team collaborates with architects and designers to plan and visualize construction projects.
• They use 3D modeling software to create detailed digital models of buildings, interiors, landscapes, and urban spaces.
• These models help stakeholders understand the design concepts and spatial arrangements.
• Architectural visualizers are responsible for presenting and explaining visuals to both clients and colleagues.
• They ensure that design ideas are accurately and attractively represented.
• Effective communication through visualizations is essential for project understanding and decision-making.
• While 3D models provide a realistic view, 2D drawings remain crucial.
• The team creates technical drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and site plans.
• These drawings serve as a foundation for construction and coordination with other professionals.
• Architectural visualizers take wireframe models and transform them into photorealistic renderings.
• Using specialized rendering software, they simulate lighting, materials, textures, and furnishings.
• Clients can see how the finished space will look before construction begins.
• To enhance understanding, the team produces animations and walkthroughs.
• These dynamic visualizations allow clients to virtually explore the building from different angles.
• Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR):
• The team explores immersive technologies like VR and AR.
• VR allows engineers to step into a virtual environment and interact with 3D models.
• AR overlays digital information onto the real world, aiding in maintenance and training.
• Visualizers find solutions to project impediments.
• They resolve design issues in 3D, ensuring alignment with the project’s vision.
• Accuracy and high-quality outputs are maintained throughout.
• Architectural visualization teams often work on several projects simultaneously.
• They manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional results.
• The field evolves rapidly, driven by technological advancements.
• Visualizers continuously learn and adapt to new tools, software, and techniques.
